This EN 54-10 UV/IR Flame Detector Tester / Test Lamp / Inspection Apparatus is a professional functional testing device designed for the field and laboratory testing of point flame detectors (including UV, single/dual/triple-band IR, UV/IR combinations, and multispectral types). It accurately simulates flame radiation signals and supports core tests such as response threshold testing, consistency testing, repeatability testing, orientation testing, power-on testing, power supply parameter fluctuation testing, and ambient light interference testing.

 

This equipment strictly complies with the test requirements for response thresholds, consistency, repeatability, orientation, power supply, power fluctuations, and ambient light interference under GB 12791-2006 "Point-type Ultraviolet Flame Detectors" (clauses 4.2~4.7), GB 15631-2008 "Special Fire Detectors" (point-type infrared/infrared-ultraviolet part, clauses 5.2.2~5.2.7), and EN 54-10:2002 + A1:2005 "Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems - Part 10: Flame Detectors - Point-type Detectors". It is also compatible with the functional verification of point-type flame detectors under the international equivalent standard ISO 7240-10 and similar standards such as FM 3260.

 

Employing a high-precision radiation simulation source, this portable, rechargeable battery-powered flame detector is easy to operate, safe, and reliable. It is suitable for regular maintenance, installation, commissioning, performance verification, and compliance certification testing of flame detectors in hazardous industrial areas, petrochemical plants, warehouses, airports, tunnels, and other locations. 4. Product Scope for Testing

This testing device is specifically designed for testing point-type infrared and ultraviolet flame detectors conforming to EN 54-10/ISO 7240-10 standards. The precise range covers the following individual product types (compatible with various detectors such as UV, IR, and UV/IR):

Ultraviolet (UV) Flame Detector (185-260nm band, single UV type)

Single-band Infrared (IR) Flame Detector

Dual-band Infrared (IR/IR) Flame Detector

5. Main Technical Specifications

5.1 Instrument Composition: Consists of optical track, red and ultraviolet light source, neutral density filter, shutter, modulator, sample slide support, etc.

5.2 Optical Track:

5.2.1 Dual-electric displacement track, effective length: 2.5m, movement measurement accuracy within ±4mm;

5.2.2 Straightness: <0.04mm;

5.3 Red and Ultraviolet Light Source:

5.3.1 Utilizes the flame generated by methane combustion as the red and ultraviolet light source;

5.4 Fuel Gas: Methane with a purity of not less than 99.9%;

5.5 Ensures that the variation in the radiant energy of the light source is less than ±5%;

5.6 The gas supply pipeline adopts a gas flow regulating valve;

5.7 The gas supply pipeline adopts a gas solenoid valve, with the gas supply cut-off controlled by the control unit;

5.8 Ignition Method: Remote-controlled high-voltage electronic ignition;

5.9 Neutral Density Filter:

5.9.1 Function: To attenuate ultraviolet radiation;

5.9.2 Wavelength: 200nm~300nm, neutral ultraviolet neutral density filter, 50% and 60% physical neutral density filters;

5.10 Modulator:

5.10.1 Used for samples requiring a specific scintillation frequency;

5.10.2 Consists of a chopper and a DC motor;

5.10.3 Adjusting the DC motor to drive the chopper at the desired rotation frequency modulates the radiation generated by the flame combustion.

5.11 Sample Slide Support:

5.11.1 Function: Allows for mounting different types of samples and enables sliding along the optical track;

5.11.2 Slide Support Height: Adjustable from 10 to 200 mm

5.11.3 Slide Support Treatment: The entire support is blackened to prevent surface reflection;

5.11.4 Sample Mounting Angle Adjustment: Allows rotation about the perpendicular line from the optical track axis, and independent rotation around a second axis perpendicular to the optical axis, passing through the intersection of the optical axis and the detector sensing element plane, with an angle accuracy of ±5°. The angle between the sample's axis and the optical axis can be adjusted to 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, and 60°.

5.11.5 Slide table support movement speed: 50mm/s

5.11.6 Detector distance from flame movement range: 0~2500mm (factory default initial position 2000mm)

5.12 Response point D-value measurement: A stepper motor drives the sample mounting bracket, allowing for accurate measurement of the sample's response point D-value.

5.13 Power supply parameter fluctuation test:

5.13.1 Adjustable power supply is used;

5.13.2 Voltage adjustment range: 0~50V, adjustable arbitrarily;

5.14 Control section:

5.14.1 Touch screen + PLC control is used;

5.14.2 Motors: Two stepper motors control the horizontal movement and rotation angle of the optical track respectively; one DC motor controls the modulator to change the flash frequency.

5.15 Chopper frequency: 0-14Hz; (The chopper frequency can be continuously adjusted during use; when not in use, the chopper automatically rotates to the stop position without obstructing the light path);

5.16 Shutter: Facilitates the detector's reception of red and ultraviolet light sources, and should allow for control of the detector's exposure time to the light source with an accuracy of 2 seconds;

5.17 Ambient light interference test apparatus: The light source consists of two identical 25W tungsten filament incandescent lamps with transparent glass housings conforming to IEC 60064. The light source should be powered by 50Hz AC mains. The lamp's color temperature is 2850K±100K, ensuring an illuminance of 100Lx on the detector sensor plane;

5.18 Power supply: 50Hz, AC220V, 600W.

5.19 Laser beam: Facilitates adjustment of the sample and light source to be on the same horizontal line.
