FMVSS 302 Interior Fabric Horizontal Flammability Tester

Product Introduction:

Most of the interior materials of automobiles are flammable. If some measures are not taken to slow down the burning speed of these flammable materials, the consequences will be serious when an accident occurs. Our equipment can be used for combustion testing of automobile interior materials.

Horizontal combustion tester, suitable for combustion performance test of automotive interior materials, conforming to GB 8410 and foreign standards such as ISO 3795, FMV SS302.

Test Method:

Take out the pretreated sample, place the sample with raised or tufted surface flat on a flat table, and comb the raised surface twice in the opposite direction of the fluff with a specified metal comb. Light the gas lamp with the air inlet of the gas lamp closed, and adjust the flame according to the flame height mark plate so that the flame height is 38mm. Before starting the first test, the flame should burn stably for at least 1min in this state and then extinguish. Put the sample exposed side down into the sample holder.

Push the sample holder into the combustion box, place the sample in the center of the combustion box, and place it in a horizontal position. Light the gas lamp with the air inlet of the gas lamp closed, and make the flame height 38mm. Let the free end of the sample be in the flame and ignite for 15 seconds, and then extinguish the flame (close the gas lamp valve). The flame burns forward from the free end of the sample, and the timing starts at the moment when the root of the propagating flame passes the first mark. Pay attention to the flame propagation of the faster burning side, and the timing is based on the faster flame propagation side.

When the flame reaches the second mark or the flame goes out before reaching the second mark, stop the timing at the same time, and the timing is also based on the faster flame propagation side. If the flame goes out before reaching the second mark, measure the burning distance from the first mark to the time when the flame goes out. The burning distance refers to the length of the burnt part of the surface or interior of the sample.

Parameter configuration:

1. The combustion test box is made of all stainless steel structure with a wall thickness of 2mm, which is not easy to deform after burning;

2. There are 10 19mm ventilation holes at the bottom of the box, and there are 13mm wide ventilation slots around;

3. Bunsen burner, the inner diameter of the nozzle is 9.5mm, and the flame height can be adjusted to 38mm;

4. The box is equipped with a tempered glass transparent observation window, which is convenient for testers to observe;

5. The bottom of the box is equipped with a collection tray for collecting molten drips;

6. U-shaped stainless steel sample clamp, which can be inserted from the right side of the box;

7. After the U-shaped stainless steel sample clamp is inserted, the instrument can automatically time;

8. The burning flame can be automatically cut off 15s after the test starts;

9. Needle valve and ball valve are provided to adjust and cut off the gas;
