ASTM E662 ISO 5659-2 NBS Plastic Smoke Density Chamber
Product Introduction:
The NBS smoke density test chamber test method, originating from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) (the predecessor of NBS), has been promoted and applied in many testing fields. This test method can be used to detect the smoke density levels of plastic products, non-metallic materials for rail transit, non-metallic materials for ships, wire and cable products, etc.; according to this test method, the generally applicable standards are ASTM E662, ISO 5659-2, and the NES 711 smoke density test method in the military national standard; this test standard has more accurate test results than the previous building materials smoke density tester method, and the optical sensor uses a more precise photomultiplier tube to capture subtle changes in smoke content in the chamber; if other test devices are selected, such as the Dräger gas detection tube, aviation standard smoke toxicity testing can be performed, and when connected to the FTIR Fourier transform infrared device, qualitative and quantitative analysis of smoke content can be completed.

Features:
1. The smoke density chamber's internal dimensions are: 914mm x 914mm x 610mm. Both the interior and exterior walls are Teflon-coated to resist corrosion from highly corrosive gases, significantly extending the chamber's service life.
2. The chamber features a fully open door design, making cleaning easier and significantly improving efficiency when replacing test accessories with different standards.
3. An auxiliary heating device is installed on the outer wall of the chamber, allowing the chamber temperature to be adjusted according to different standards.
4. An explosion-proof aluminum foil device is installed inside the chamber to reduce personal risk to testers in the event of an accident.
5. A pressure relief vent is located on the top of the chamber, connected to a pressure regulating flask for adjustable pressure.
6. Automatically operated cylinders are installed on both the top and bottom of the chamber to draw in and exhaust smoke.
7. Equipped with an ASTM E662 radiant furnace, providing a 25kW/m² heat output.
8. Equipped with an ASTM E662 radiant furnace. Standard six-burner burner, compatible with a radiant furnace for flame combustion tests.
9. Air-cooled copper pan calorimeter, back-cooling for surface temperature adjustment during testing.
10. Equipped with an ISO 5659-2/GB/T8323 radiant cone, providing 50kW/m² of heat radiation output.
11. ISO 5659-2/GB/T8323 standard open flame burner, compatible with a radiant cone for flame combustion tests.
12. SB water-cooled heat flow meter, supplied with standard metrology certificate.
13. Optional self-circulating cooling water source, eliminating the need for an external cooling water source for user convenience.
14. Equipped with a weighing device for MOD smoke density testing and thermal gravimetric testing of materials.
15. Sensor range: 0-2000g, accuracy: 0.1g.
16. Equipped with NES 711 Open flame burner and stirring fan;
17. The switch between the radiant furnace and the radiant cone uses aviation connectors, allowing users to switch between different standard test devices with a simple plug-in and unplug operation.
18. An optical dark box is installed on the top of the box. The light source is a side-window photomultiplier tube with an S-4 frequency response and a transmittance accuracy of 0.0001%.
19. The light source automatically switches between Clear, Filter, and Dark according to changes in smoke density.
20. An ND2 neutral density filter is installed in the dark box, facilitating self-calibration and automatically switching between settings during testing.
21. An incandescent light source is located at the bottom of the box, providing a uniform light spot output.
22. The smoke density test chamber is an integrated design with a touchscreen computer. Users can use the test software for full computer configuration and control.
23. A built-in printer is included, allowing users to print a test report after the test.
