DIN 4102-1 is a graded test of material properties, mainly for a single material; while DIN 4102-2 is a test of fire resistance, mainly for the entire component. The test items and requirements of DIN4102-1 and DIN4102-2 are completely different.

According to this standard, walls, ceilings, beams, stairs, etc. are considered building materials. According to this standard, components of enclosed spaces must prevent the passage of fire sources for at least 30 minutes. The walls surrounding the space must be able to withstand the load of the strength test. Supporting and non-load bearing parts must not collapse under constant load.
