IEC 60754 Cable Release Gas Halogen Acid Conductivity Tester
Product introduce
The IEC 60754 Wire and Cable Released Gas Halogen Acid Conductivity Tester is a precision device designed to evaluate the characteristics of gases released when non-metallic materials (such as insulation and sheath) of wires and cables are burned. It complies with the IEC 60754-1 and IEC 60754-2 international standards and their equivalent standards (such as EN 60754, BS EN 60754, UL 2556). The tester verifies the fire safety of low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) cables by burning 1g of sample at 800°C (for halogen acid gas content) or 950°C (for acidity and conductivity). The device integrates a tube furnace, a gas collection system, a pH meter and a conductivity meter, supports automatic temperature control and data recording, and is widely used in cable material certification testing in the fields of construction, railways, ships, etc.
Standard
1. IEC 60754 Standard
IEC 60754-1:2011+A1:2019
Title: Test on gases evolved during combustion of materials from cables – Part 1: Determination of the halogen acid gas content
Description: Specifies the equipment and procedures for determining the halogen acid gases (except hydrofluoric acid) released during the combustion of wire and cable materials (based on halogenated polymers or compounds containing halogen additives).
Applicable: Test the halogen acid gas content (expressed in mg/g) of cable insulation or sheathing materials.

IEC 60754-2:2011+A1:2019
Title: Test on gases evolved during combustion of materials from cables – Part 2: Determination of acidity (by pH measurement) and conductivity
Description: Evaluate the acidity and corrosiveness of the gases released during the combustion of wire and cable materials by measuring the pH value and conductivity of the combustion gases dissolved in water.
Application: Testing of acidity (pH ≥ 4.3) and conductivity (≤ 10 µS/mm) of low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) cable materials.
Note: Testing is performed at 950°C, as opposed to 800°C in IEC 60754-1.
Test range
The tester is suitable for the following materials and scenarios:
Test objects:
